About the Academy
Dallas Black Dance Academy, founded in 1974 by Mrs. Ann Williams, is the official school of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The Academy emphasizes that through directed dance studies in a learning environment, the mind is disciplined to control one’s total body in making better decisions for life and developing self-esteem. The academy offers classes for beginner thru advanced students. Classes are available in Ballet, Jazz, African, Modern, Hip-hop and Tap. Adult classes in Ballet, Modern and Dance Cardio are also available. Students age 4-14 are required to take ballet each year. Students ages 6 and older are encouraged to enroll in additional classes such as Jazz, African, Tap and/or Modern. Regular academy classes are offered September through May. A separate schedule of classes is offered during the summer.

About Katricia Eaglin
Dallas Black Dance Academy Artistic Director
Mrs. Eaglin is a Dallas native who has a long history with DBDT starting with her professional dance career at the dance company from 2005-2015. She has been the Director of the academy’s premier Allegro Performing Ensemble since 2012 and an academy instructor since 1997.
Directions & Parking
The Dallas Black Dance Theatre Studios/Administrative Office and the Dallas Black Dance Academy are located at 2700 Ann Williams Way in the Dallas Arts District.
Dallas Black Dance Theatre is pleased to offer parking directly in front of the building, however spaces are limited. The entrance to the lot is on the 1700 block of Arts Plaza, close to the Ross Avenue intersection.
One Arts Plaza, located at 1722 Routh Street, offers additional convenient parking options for visitors to the Dallas Black Dance Theatre Studios. Please note: One Arts Plaza is not affiliated with Dallas Black Dance Theatre.
