A DBDT Virtual Experience:

LEGACY PERFORMANCE SERIES & DANCE MAKER’S DISCUSSION

Mesmerizing, Powerful, Words to Live By… Then and Now

Join us for an in-depth reveal of how art truly replicates life. Embedded in this rich work, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech  “We Shall Overcome”  becomes the embodiment of faith and protest. Choreographer Tommie-Waheed Evans will speak about his timely work Bodies as Site of Faith and Protest which explores the idea of bodies uniting in protest through faith.

The Dallas Black Dance Theatre dancers will share their perspective about the process and journey to performing this work. You will be able to engage in conversation by sharing your comments and asking questions. Enjoy behind the scenes moments along with a viewing of the full ballet from DBDT’s 2018 premiere. You don’t want to miss this experience!
