Ann Williams Legacy Society
When Ann Williams started Dallas Black Dance Theatre in 1976, she did not know it would become Dallas’ largest dance company or the nation’s fourth largest African American dance company. She started it with the simple goal of inspiring minority children to see themselves as professional dancers. From that vision, a legacy of inclusion, collaboration, and artistic excellence has transformed the dance world.
Now you can be a part of Ann Williams’ legacy by joining the Ann Williams Legacy Society. Including Dallas Black Dance Theatre as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy magnifies the organization’s impact in the community and ensures the longevity of Dallas’ oldest professional dance company for generations to come.
Joining the Ann Williams Legacy Society means joining an exclusive group of peers committed to the long-term sustainability of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Benefits of Society members include an annual Legacy Luncheon and quarterly events, such as open rehearsals and specialized wealth planning seminars.
Supporters who join the Society by December 2018 earn the special distinction of Charter Member, a designation that will be recognized in all Dallas Black Dance Theatre materials.
Norma and Don Stone
The Stone’s have supported the organization’s annual fund for nearly a decade at a leadership level. In 2016, Norma and Don Stone elected to add Dallas Black Dance Theatre to their will to ensure its sustainability and undergird its strong fiscal and management policies. The Stone’s made the first known planned gift to Dallas Black Dance Theatre.

Annabelle "Tina" Brown
Annabelle “Tina” Brown attended several performances by the company and fell in love. She named Dallas Black Dance Theatre as a beneficiary in her will so that at-risk children could attend performances and experience the transformative power of dance. Her gift to the organization was fulfilled in 2017 and was the organization’s first known bequest.
